Genre Spotlight: Classical

Thu 26 Feb | 15:00 - 15:45

CHAIR: Matthew Todd, Royal Albert Hall (UK)

The mainstreaming of classical and orchestral music. The narrative of decline has attached itself to classical and orchestral music for decades. But innovative artists, promoters, and venues have shown that there are vast audiences for high-quality, accessible classical music.

This session will hear from those actively engaged in the sector, sharing best practise on programming and marketing, explaining how they are breathing new life into one of the world’s oldest ‘genres.’
